“Help for the Hurting”
“In my distress I called upon the LORD; to my God I cried for help. From His temple He heard my voice, and my cry to Him reached His ears.”–Psalm 18:6
I knew a boy once who had been hurt very deeply. His pain was intense and his emotions were raw. He was in tears as he told his dad how unfair life was and because of the pain inside he said some pretty harsh things.
When he was finished, his dad hugged him tight and shed tears with him.
There are a lot of folks who read this each week who are hurting. There are others who may not read this who are our friends and family.
For those of you who live outside Onslow County, the Law Enforcement Family here has lost two of our own this week and the pain is real and the hurt is pretty bad right now. There are others hurting for various reasons all around us.
But God is real and we can go before Him and pour ourselves out before Him. We may say some harsh things in the pain, but He loves us and when we are done He will embrace us and comfort us as our loving Heavenly Father.
Have a safe Independence Day/Hurricane Arthur weekend!
My prayer for us this week is for comfort for those who hurt.
